Firstly thanks for the tremendous support for this event. All tickets are sold and there is a waiting list. However, to have over 100 mainly elderly people in close contact in the hall and serve them supper in the current health scare is not acceptable. I have therefore decided to postpone this event until the autumn. A new date will be released as soon as agreed. Tickets will remain valid but should you need a refund please let us know. My contact details are normabarrow@btinternet.com 01255 870681 Please keep safe and we will look forward to having a fun evening in the autumn.

Christmas Market update and quiz
Christmas Craft Market It was good to see so many people from the village supporting this event. Once again Kathy Wilkinson had managed to book a wide variety of good quality stalls. Father Christmas was in good form and it was a joy to watch the children’s faces as they left his grotto! A big thank you to everyone who gave their time, produced and donated food or gave raffle and tombola items. Good team effort! The profit from this event was £2,129. Thank you!
Christmas Quiz There were 4 people who had the same number of marks for the quiz, therefore following the published rules a draw was made and the outright winner was Jackie Munson. Thank you to everyone who bought a quiz sheet and Fontaine for selling them .The quiz raised a magnificent £153 profit!

Garden Open Day Results
The Gardens Open Day was once again very successful, not only monetarily but by bringing a good feel factor to the village. There were well over 250 visitors to the event. I am so pleased that many of you have told me you had a great day. The total raised after expenses is £1,923. This is a new record (Just!) For photos see gallery
A big thank you to the garden owners who worked through “difficult” weather conditions to prepare their gardens for June 30th. As usual this event was very much a team effort and thanks must also go to those on the rosters, and the various stalls. A great deal of hard work went into preparing food, cakes and organising plants so again, thank you.
Christine has asked me to tell you that the price of the left over cakes was covered by a donation and they will be used at the Church Tea Party and also the Tendring Show Church tent. Nothing went to waste.
The money raised will eventually be used by the PCC for the work needed on the tower rainwater drainage. See project tab for details.
